The centre’s story began in 2008 with an order to produce 500 handmade, high-quality prayer mats with a special design for the Royal Palace made by Saudi hands. Today, the centre’s production of carpets exceeds 52,000 pieces annually, with diverse design patterns including traditional, Andalusian, and Arabic calligraphy. Nafisa Shams’ production capacity has evolved beyond carpet production, becoming an esteemed manufacturing hub for a wide range of production lines including textiles, leather crafts, woodwork, and ceramics. Each piece is handcrafted using high-quality materials sourced locally, reflecting the heritage and history of the Kingdom. Currently, the innovative products that the centre’s female artisans are working on include prayer mats, prayer robes, prayer beads, corporate uniforms, polo shirts, abayas, notebooks, engraved plaques and art pieces, among many more.
